Introduction
What is CoEngineers?
Section titled “What is CoEngineers?”
CoEngineers is a practical learning programme that teaches you how to build products people actually want using AI coding assistants. No prior coding experience is required. You will use your preferred LLM tool (Claude Code, Gemini, or Codex) to follow step-by-step guides and build real software.
The programme is built around three books, each pairing a different AI coding assistant with a real product build. Every book comes with a Book Lab on this site: a self-contained learning path that walks you through the entire process using LLM prompts you can copy and paste directly into your tool of choice.
The VOSS Framework
Section titled “The VOSS Framework”
VOSS stands for Vault, Offer, Ship, Scale. It is the four-stage framework that every CoEngineers book follows:
-
Vault: Organise your knowledge. Set up an Obsidian vault with a structured folder system, templates, and metadata. This becomes your personal knowledge base for every project you build.
-
Offer: Create your product. Design and validate your offer using the Hormozi Value Equation. Build an offer booklet, set up a Gumroad page, find your first 10 paying early adopters, and prepare everything for launch.
-
Ship: Build and deliver. Use SpecKit to turn your product specification into working software. Follow the Specify, Plan, Tasks, Implement workflow to go from idea to deployed application.
-
Scale: Grow your audience. Start with warm outreach (the lowest friction, zero-budget channel), then layer on cold outreach, content creation, and paid advertising as you gain traction.
Three Layers: Books, Labs, Apps
Section titled “Three Layers: Books, Labs, Apps”
Each stage of the VOSS framework is supported by three layers:
-
Books provide the theory. Each book explains the concepts, principles, and reasoning behind each stage. You read the book to understand the “why”.
-
Book Labs provide the practice. Each Book Lab on this site contains five pages (Overview, Vault, Offer, Ship, Scale) with step-by-step LLM prompts tailored to that specific project. You follow the lab to learn the “how”.
-
Apps provide the application. Each book culminates in a real, working mobile application that you build and deploy. You ship the app to prove you can do it.
The Three Books
Section titled “The Three Books”
| Book | AI Assistant | Product |
|---|---|---|
| Book 1: Sleep Tracker | Claude Code | A sleep tracking mobile app |
| Book 2: Time Boxing | OpenAI Codex | A time management mobile app |
| Book 3: Water Tracker | Gemini CLI | A Water tracking mobile app |
Book 1 is available now. Books 2 and 3 are coming soon.
How to Use This Site
Section titled “How to Use This Site”Start with the Prerequisites page to make sure you have everything you need. Then pick a Book Lab and follow the five pages in order:
- Overview: understand the project and the VOSS framework
- Vault: set up your Obsidian knowledge base
- Offer: define, validate, and sell your offer
- Ship: build the app with your AI coding tool
- Scale: grow beyond your first 10 customers
We recommend starting with a Book Lab. Book 1: Sleep Tracker is the most thoroughly documented and uses Claude Code. Each page contains LLM Prompt Boxes: pre-written prompts you can copy and paste directly into your LLM tool. Follow them in order and you will have a working output at the end of every page.
If you want to apply the VOSS framework to your own product idea instead of following a guided tutorial, refer to the VOSS Guides for project-agnostic instructions you can adapt to any project.
